COMUNIDAD SOL is a grassroots, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2023 and led by Maya youth and women who are grandchildren of survivors of the Maya genocide.
Mission
Comunidad Sol works to strengthen the identity, organization, and collective rights of the Maya community by building sustainable, inclusive, and autonomous communities grounded in their own knowledge systems and leadership.
